Bellamonte is surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Pale di San Martino and the Catena del Lagorai

Bellamonte, part of the municipality of Predazzo in Val di Fiemme, Trentino-Alto Adige, is surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Pale di San Martino and the Catena del Lagorai which provide a wonderful natural frame. Bellamonte, at 1400m above sea level and only 7km from Predazzo, is a well known tourist destination for winter holidays thanks to the ski lifts and slopes of the nearby Bellamonte Lusia Alps Ski Area, Dolomiti Superski and the fabulous cross country ski circuit. It is particularly suitable for families and first-time skiers thanks to the sunny aspect of its slopes.

There are numerous mountain huts offering the opportunity to relax in the sun between one run and the next.

In summer many local trails offer the opportunity to admire Bellamonte's characteristic haylofts, in the fields and pastures. The nearby artificial lake, Fortebuso, provides the chance to go fishing or  enjoy a pleasant picnic and walk at Forte Dossaccio, a fort built during the First World War to guard the strategic passes of Lusia, Valles, Rolle and Colbricon.

Not far away is the Visitor Centre of the Paneveggio Nature Park, a starting point for wonderful excursions to discover the 'forest of the violins', and a centre for interesting environmental workshops for adults and children. It's often possible to glimpse deer grazing in the fields nearby.

Artists such as Uto Ughi and Giovanni Allevi have played at Carigole for the summer music festival 'Sounds of the Dolomites', a series of concerts dedicated to the idea of freedom. Internationally renowned musicians, instruments on their shoulders, join artists and mountain-lovers in walking to  concert locations to show their respect for nature.

Bellamonte offers a rich programme of activities for its guests in a wonderful natural environment without having to use the car, without queues and without stress.

The Val di Fiemme has been chosen as the location for the third Nordic World Ski Championships to be held from 20th  February until 3rd March 2013, after its past successes in 1991 and 2003.
